“I thought I missed this,” she said.

“It’s okay.”

“You’re such a bad liar,” she said as she hugged me. “Take me home. I have better plans for you.”

“I was just starting to have fun,” I whined.

“‘Stupid boy’! I offer you sex, and you’d rather stay here?” she asked.

I just grabbed her hand and pulled her out the front door. We went to my room and had naked fun. We had just finished when her phone rang.

“Hello?

“I’m taking advantage of him right now,” Halle said.

“Who is it?” I asked.

“Brook. She’s being nosy.”

I grabbed the phone.

“Hey,” I said.

“Did you get your wake-up this morning?” Brook asked.

“No. She’s not taking full advantage. How was school today?”

“I missed you. Cassidy, Zoe, and Pam told me to tell you hi. Pam chased Yuri down the hall again today. You’ll have to ask Pam what he said. I guess Jan saved him.”

“Yeah, I’ll have to get the story. Halle wants to talk to you,” I said and handed the phone back.

They talked as I took a shower. I’d had a full first day. When I came out, Halle was gone.

Chapter 16 – This is Going to Hurt Tuesday December 1

I woke up to my phone ringing.

“Hello?”

“When did you plan to call?” Mom asked.

“Uhm.”

“I expect regular updates, or I’ll be on a plane so I can watch your every move,” she threatened.

Mom put me on speaker, and I caught my parents up. I found out that both Rita and Caryn had told them everything I’d done; they just wanted to talk to me. They caught me up on the goings-on at home. Peggy and Little David had moved into my apartment, and Duke was happy for the company.

I told them I missed them. Mom reminded me that we would all be at Devin and Cora’s wedding; it was being held in LA. Rita had offered to put my parents up.

During a break in filming, Zak Verwood, who played Jake Armstrong, invited me back to his trailer to talk. I noticed he had weed on the table, sitting beside a bong. He loaded a bowl and fired it up. After he exhaled a cloud of smoke, he offered it to me.

“No, thanks.”

“You sure? This is good shit,” Zak said.

“No, I’m good. I quit a couple of years ago.”

“That’s cool. You don’t mind if I have some, do you?”

“As long as you’re good to go for our next scene, I’m fine.”

“I do my best work with a little buzz,” he explained, and then changed the subject. “Are you tapping Halle’s ass?”

I cocked my head while deciding if he and I were about to have a problem. He held up his hands.

“Sorry, man, that came out wrong. I just wanted us to talk so we didn’t confuse things. If you’re not interested in Halle, I was going to make a run at her. Rumor is that she’s a virgin, and if you don’t mind, I’d like to change that for her,” Zak said.

“I’d rather you didn’t. Halle and I’ve been dating for a couple of months, and I don’t share well.”

“Is she good in bed?” he asked eagerly.

“That’s something I don’t talk about,” I said.

“That’s good. I understand. I was just curious. What about the other girls? Should we divide them up or just share them? I’d prefer if we shared so we could have more variety,” he suggested.

“You sound confident that we can get them to go along with it,” I said.

Zak laughed.

“I started having sex when I was thirteen. I don’t believe there have been more than three days go by without me having some kind of sex. Things are different here. I think you’re going to like it. I know for a fact that Leah has her eye on you. She told me that she wanted to see how things work out between you two before she’d spend some time with me. I think it would probably be beneficial for your acting since the two of you have to play like you’re in love. Get that sexual tension taken care of so it seems more real.”

“So you don’t have a girlfriend?” I asked.

“Are you crazy?” he asked, and I could tell he meant it. “Let me explain it to you. Yesterday I got a coffee at the commissary. The girl behind the counter showed some interest, so I took her to the back room, and we had sex. I went to a club last night and invited two other girls back to my place for a threesome. This morning the makeup girl gave me a hummer just to get my day started right. You really should let her do that for you; she’s very good.

“I guess what I’m saying is why would I have a girlfriend? If I remember right, the longest I’ve ever gone out with a girl is three weeks, and I was out of town for one of them,” he explained.

“You’re telling me that you’ve been with four girls since yesterday?” I asked.

He smiled and nodded.

“My young friend, I need to introduce you to the joys of being in the business. I’m going to start by getting you laid right now,” he said.

“How do you plan to do that?” I asked.

“Simple. Go to Leah’s trailer and knock on the door. I expect you can figure it out from there,” he said with confidence.

“Yeah, why not,” I said, invoking the ‘no regrets’ clause in my life goals.
