This creative faculty cannot be given or received, shared or borrowed.	Нельзя дать или получить способность к творчеству, одолжить её или поделиться ею.
It belongs to single, individual men.	Она принадлежит каждому в отдельности.
That which it creates is the property of the creator.	То, что ею создаётся, составляет собственность творца.
Men learn from one another.	Люди учатся друг у друга.
But all learning is only the exchange of material.	Но обучение - лишь обмен материальным.
No man can give another the capacity to think.	Никто не может дать другому способность мыслить.
Yet that capacity is our only means of survival.	Но от этой способности зависит выживание.

And here man faces his basic alternative: he can survive in only one of two ways - by the independent work of his own mind or as a parasite fed by the minds of others.	И он сталкивается с главным выбором: есть только два способа выжить - живя своим умом или паразитируя на уме других.
The creator originates.	Творец творит.
The parasite borrows.	Паразит всё получает из вторых рук.
The creator faces nature alone.	Творец стоит лицом к лицу с природой.
The parasite faces nature through an intermediary.	Паразит прячется за посредником.
"The creator's concern is the conquest of nature.	Творец стремится подчинить природу.
