История русской эмиграции в странах Латинской Америки является составной частью истории Русского зарубежья. После 1917 г., писал М.В. Вишняк, «с возникновением советской власти появилась вновь русская политическая эмиграция».[413] Вместе с нею в 1920-1930-е гг. на латиноамериканский континент были привнесены, с одной стороны, национальные идеи, русская символика, менталитет, с другой – дух политической борьбы и сопровождавшее ее деление по политическим взглядам и партийно-политической принадлежности.

Применительно к анализу иммиграционной ситуации в латиноамериканских странах следует учесть, что к началу XX В. там проживала значительная по численности славянская диаспора, главным образом трудовая эмиграция. Появление на континенте представителей Белого движения значительно расширило спектр политических интересов российских переселенцев: от коммунистических и анархо-синдикалистских до монархических, национал-патриотических и откровенно профашистских.
