Agnes pleated her apron. Her face was averted.	Агнес оправила свой передник.

"Oh, yes, sir," Agnes agreed quickly, "it would indeed."	- О, да, сэр! Думаю, что да.

Her startled eyes met his.	Девушка уставилась на него испуганными глазами.
She shrank back a little.	Она даже немного отпрянула.

He felt sure that there was an answer to that question. But as yet he could not guess what it was.	Он был уверен, что ответ на него существует, но для него пока остается недосягаемым.

VI When Poirot returned to his flat he was surprised to find an unexpected visitor awaiting him.	Придя домой, Пуаро с удивлением обнаружил, что его дожидается гость.
A bald head was visible above the back of a chair, and the small neat figure of Mr. Barnes rose to his feet.	Навстречу ему из кресла поднялся аккуратный, маленький, лысый м-р Барнс.
